Little Man's Party

Here are the pictures from Collin's birthday party!
Made this little onsie for him to wear to his party.
I took this pic in the backyard a couple days before and used picnik
to edit and it came out even better than I expected!

Here's the invitations I made
Here's some of the decorations we made.  I can't tell you how much fun I had making these things and decorating for the party (with help of course).  I figured that a boy's first birthday is the only time I can get away with "cutsie" decorations.  And since I have no girls to do cutsie stuff with, I'm going all out!

Here's the hanging tie garland I made to go across the
kitchen and the hanging balloons in the background.

Tissue balls and more of tie garland

I had a blank wreath and a whole bunch of scrap fabric so my
sister whipped up this wreath that turned out way cute!

Me and my sis Melissa by the dessert table.
We had rice krispies balls, dipped in white chocolate with sprinkles, cookies and
of course the cupcakes with the little cupcake toppers I made to go on top.

I found those cute buckets and striped plates in the clearance aisle at Target after Easter.  I know, that was quite a while ago but that's how I found the inspiration for the colors and I went from there! :)  You gotta grab things when you see them or otherwise, you might never find exactly what you want later!

Made a collage print with some of the other pictures I
took from the backyard in his tie onsie.

I found this "C" in the dollar bins at Michael's and added it to the
banner I made with some of the matching fabric I had left.

Cupcakes!
He stuck his finger in there as soon as I set down the cupcake
before we were done singing.  He wasn't sure what to do
at first, but it didn't take long to figure it out!

He really enjoyed making a complete mess out of the cupcakes!
They were green and blue to match everything else of course!

More party pics-I had too many to choose from so I just made some more collages!
Can you find Spiderman Brady in there?  I made him a tie shirt too!

Loves his new basketball hoop!  He especially liked
climbing up and down the box!
We had such a fun time at the party and were so glad we had so much of our family here with us to celebrate!  Thanks for the fun weekend and for all the help with the party!

Little Sadiebug's birthday

My sweet little niece Sadie turned 2! It's so much more fun to help plan and decorate for a girl's birthday than it is for a boy. And since I'm heavy on the boys department here at Chez Gray, it's fun that I have 3 little nieces that I can have my fill of girls! It's been nice living here in NE so that I can travel back to Il pretty easily for the weekend to be there for birthdays. Too bad TX isn't as close because I didn't get to go for Brin's birthday :(
Anyway, I helped Melissa out with the invitations and decorations and of course got to be there for the partay!! Everything red, black and white polka dots and ladybugs to decorate the basement! We had to move the picnic inside because the weather was not cooperating. 2nd year in a row for Sadie's party that it was supposed to be outside but got moved inside! Melissa friends....er....I mean... she painted these cute little ladybug rocks as take home gifts. :) I have mine in our front flower bed. They are so cute!
My boys posing in the "photo booth"Little Miss sampling the cupcakes!Right in the middle of opening presents, she opened a princess dress-up dress and stripped right down in front of everyone to try it on! Gotta love the little cute cheek hanging out of the diaper! :)So proud of herself!

Even Grandma Gray got to come and enjoy the party and her boys!Pinata!!Phillips fam What a mess!!! Love that girl! Happy birthday Sadiebug!

Berry Special Birthday Girl!

It is so fun to have nieces! Since I only have boys, I get to live out all my visions of pink and pretty through my nieces! Birthdays are so much more fun to do for girls because you can go as pink and girly as you want. With boys-not so much! :) So I love being able to help my sister plan the girls' birthday parties and help with the decorations! She did a Strawberry Shortcake birthday for Ava, but not with everything in Strawberry Shortcake printed things. We mostly used strawberries, pink, red, a little green and a little Strawberry Shortcake here and there. It turned out so cute! These tissue balls seem pretty popular all over now and pretty simple to make!
Here is a cute little garland/table runner I made using a tutorial I found here. I have been hitting the craft blogs hard recently and finding some really cute things!!! She did it with shamrocks but you can really do it with any shapes so I used the strawberry and flowers from the invitations and decorations to trace. I also had a lot of pink and red things I had made for Valentine's Day that I brought along that went with the theme perfectly!
Here's the cute birthday girl Ava with her cake! 4 years old and getting prettier every day! She must take after her Aunt Jessie- wink wink! ;)

Brady playing the strawberry beanbag toss game. I used a simple strawberry pattern I found online and made some beanbags with the leftover felt I had from the garland.

My mom, me, Ava and Melissa

I love this picture of us girls!! :)

Here's our 4 kiddos-this one is probably better than any we have taken all together recently! :)
