Lately and in the near future

I was just looking at my calendar and realizing I had lost count of how many weeks pregnant I am. I had to write it in there every week so I could just look at the calendar to remember how far along I was (almost 36 weeks in case you're wondering). Now I'm counting down more than up really anyway! I'm scheduled for my c-section on August 23rd at noon. Yay!
I remember back about 15 weeks ago when I filled in the dates all the way to 40 weeks and it seemed like such a long time away. I couldn't bring myself to do it much before then in fear that I would have to go back and erase it out of my calendar as I had done before. Up until then I had only filled it in a couple weeks at a time so I would not get too far ahead of myself making plans and hoping that everything was going to turn out OK. I guess everything happens in the time that it is supposed to and it has taken me over a year to figure that out.
It is much easier for me to say that now of course since I am only a little over 3 weeks away from actually having the baby. It seems like now that I am getting right down to it, it still doesn't seem quite real yet. You would think my enormous body would remind me constantly of that but I guess not! It's not like this is the first baby I am having either so I'm not really sure why I am feeling that but I guess you can never really be fully "ready" can you?
We have so many changes coming up in the next couple months (baby, trying to sell our house and moving to a totally new city) and I think I have just learned to go along with whatever comes along. I guess being in a military family, you kind of have to. I am learning to not worry about the things that I have no control over and just focus on what I do have control over and that is getting this baby here healthy and keeping Brady happy and Aaron too. The rest will work itself out!
I'm not sure why I'm thinking about all of this right now but I guess that's kind of how the last bit of pregnancy is. It brings out all the thinking and trying to plan ahead. Too bad I also have pregnancy induced stupidity so often and I don't get too far! Oh well, who needs plans anyway?
So, that's what's going on here for now........much more exciting things to come soon!

Over ambitious, extremely helpful or just plain cute??

As I have only about 6 weeks left now before the baby comes, I have grown quite large and uncomfortable--especially since it's summer in AZ. The other night we took a very short walk around the block and Brady wanted to ride in the stroller. He wanted me to push but I told him that Daddy would have to do it because Mommy's belly is too big. About 10 minutes later out of no where he says "Mommy, when the baby comes out your belly won't be big anymore!" I laughed and said "That's the plan!"
He must have been thinking about all the things I will be able to do with him once my belly is no longer big and I'm pretty sure it made him do this today:
I was just sitting here on the computer wasting time on Facebook and Brady comes in and says
"I can take the baby out with these!"
In case you can't tell what they are, it is a My Little Pony comb and a little Elmo!

My camera was sitting right here on the desk and so I snapped a picture after I was done laughing. (Yes, he's wearing no shirt-he took it off the moment he woke up this morning. He is wearing shorts though, sometimes it's those he takes off right away!)

I asked him how he was going to do that with these 2 things. I got the comb part I thought but I did not know what part Elmo would play in the delivery. So he proceeded to lift my shirt, run the comb down my huge belly and pretend to take the Elmo out of where he just "cut".

Quite the imagination! And the weird thing is that he's pretty accurate since I am having a c-section (except for the direction of the incision-that would be quite large and painful!). I told him about how the Dr would take the baby out when it was time but it's been a while and I'm pretty sure I did not give any kind of demonstration!!! And if our baby looks like Elmo, I might have some 'splainin' to do to Aaron!

I am so much enjoying the last month or so Brady and I have left with just the 2 of us at home together and the time we get to spend playing and learning from each other. So as anxious as I am to be done, I'll enjoy these last weeks together with just my one little buddy-then I will enjoy my 2 little buddies!

Random pics from July

I have some pictures I've taken in the last couple weeks but they're not really that exciting to make a whole post for each one. So I've thrown them all together and here we go!

Aaron and Brady at the fireworks on 4th of July

Here's me the same day-32 weeks and I don't know how much more room I have left!

We went to the zoo while Aaron had a 4 day weekend and Brady fed the giraffe which we haven't done in forever! I love the zoo here! Where else can you get that close to the animals? Look at that tongue!

Little buddies building a fort out of the couch. It was very amusing to listen to them play in there for hours! These 2 little friends are going to miss each other so much when we have to move!
Speaking of which, we should be moving around the end of October for anyone that was curious. (Not totally official yet but pretty close.) We just put our house up for sale and we'll see what happens! Anyone want to buy a house? I think it will be a very sad day for all of us when we have to move. We have made some of the best friends here that have become like family. But I guess in the military you can't stay in one place forever! We've been blessed to have been here for this long- 5 years by the time we leave. Well, enough talk of that since we still have like 4 months left here! We still have to have a baby and sell a house-that's a lot left to get done I think!

Happy 4th of July!!!

If this doesn't get you in the patriotic spirit, I don't know what will! :) Love you little Brin! We'll be going to see fireworks tonight but I wish we could be there to see you in person in this adorable outfit!
