I love Ross!

I love Ross the store - not the David Schwimmer character from Friends (even though Friends is probably my all-time favorite show!). I was shopping at Ross the other Day and found this adorable little Thomas the Train tent to play in for only $16. It even folds down to about 2 ft x 2 ft. And then I found an armband for my iPod to go in while I'm working out for only $5! And it was even pink! I also found a couple other little toys and books we got for really cheap too. I love getting things for a good price like that!

So here are Brady and Tolson playing in his new "Choo Choo" as Brady calls it.

I guess "everyone" needs a nap

Today I was vacuuming my house . Because he loves the vacuum cleaner so much and to keep Brady from messing with my vacuum while I'm trying to work, I bought him one of those pretend ones. So he was playing with that and as I was finishing up in the hallway outside Brady's bedroom, he was in his bedroom vacuuming (I could hear the thing talking and making the pretend vacuum noise as he played). When I turned my vacuum off I heard him talking in his room to the vacuum telling it "Nigh Nigh" (Night Night). He had put the pretend vacuum in his rocking chair and was rocking it back and forth and telling it Night Night! This kid never ceases to amaze me! Before he goes to sleep for a nap or bed time I usually rock him for a couple minutes and sing to him in his chair. We also have him turn on the night light and his little fan to let him know that it is time for him to sleep. I grabbed the camera and took a picture because it was so funny. And if you notice the vacuum cleaner is laying down in the chair, he gave it a little pillow to lay with and he even turned the night light on for him (even though it was the middle of the day).

Sharing

I guess kids learn things pretty quick when you tell them something. And my little story for today proves that! We had Tolson (he just turned 2) over playing yesterday with us for a little while and he and Brady always play pretty well together. Brady saw his little snack bowl sitting on top of the island in the kitchen and was trying to reach it but couldn't quite.
So I said "Brady do you want a snack?" He nodded yes and I got it down for him.
Then I told him "OK, but you need to share some with your friend."
He proceded to go into the kitchen and open the only non-baby-proofed cabinet and get out one of my metal mixing bowls. (We left it un-baby-proofed on purpose because he loves playing with all the big bowls and lids. This is also the cabinet he empties out and likes to hide in!)
After he had the big metal bowl out he started dumping some of his cheerios from his little bowl into the big bowl to share with Tolson. How funny is that??? Only about 6 cheerios ended up in the bowl at first. But as soon as Tolson saw there was food in the bowl and they could dump more in there, they both had fun dumping the whole snack bowl into the big metal bowl and eating out of the same bowl. It was too cute! Here are some pictures I snapped while they were having fun. (BTW-do you like Brady's bed head? Some days I cannot get his hair to lay flat on top!)

Labor Day at the Zoo

OK, so we go to zoos A LOT. But Brady loves it and it's a nice thing to do to get out of the house. Aaron was off work for Labor Day and we had never been to the Reid Park Zoo yet so we decided to go finally. It's been so hot for a while but we went first thing in the morning when it opened and it's not as hot as it has been so we figured it would be a good day. We really loved the zoo here. It has a lot of animals and it's mostly shaded which is definitely a plus in AZ! So now we have a zoo pass and will be visiting there frequently. So any of you reading this in Tucson-any time you want us to go to the zoo with you we are there! :)
Here are pictures of us with Brady with is 2 favorite things at the zoo. I think we like them so much because you can pretty much see them all the time because they are so big and don't hide and nap all afternoon! (And I'm actually noticing now that the real elephants are not in the picture - only the fake one Brady is sitting on!) It is always hard to get him to turn and face the camera when we are taking the pictures in front of the animals because he is always turning around to look at the animals and not the camera!
