Boy's rooms

So I was making it my goal to have all the rooms painted and done before everyone came for Thanksgiving and I did it! :) But since I was so busy doing it, I didn't have time to post pictures so here are some right now!

Collin's Room-

I didn't really want to paint his room a whole new color because I already had to paint a couple other rooms. Since his was still the neutral cream color, I just left it and added some things to the wall. I painted some little planes from his bedding on the canvas instead of on the wall itself. We're renting so I think I would have to repaint over it before we left anyway. Because it is hard to get a picture of a whole bedroom, I am standing next to the wall with the dresser/changing table and closet door on it so you'll have to imagine it there. It turned out really cute and I still have to add a couple more things to make it really look the way I want it to but it's mostly done.

Brady's room-BEFORE

Ok, so you cannot even begin to imagine the brightness of this color unless you are standing in the room with it. It was so bright in there, especially in the morning when the sun was coming through the front window.

AFTER

So it's not that I didn't like neon green-it's fine for a boy but it was way bright and most of the stuff in his room was already a bright green so that would be overload!

I found a cute Buzz border at Wal-Mart for $10 that is easily removed, I chose a really pretty blue color that is in the border but that also matches the dark blue and bright green in his bedding and curtains. I really do love this color and how it turned out with all the colors together. I'm going to put a bulletin board up over his bookshelf to display all of his cute school projects he comes home with. That's also why I didn't put the border up on that wall too-because there's 2 doors on that wall and the bookshelf would cover most of it. It will look better once I find one/make one and hang it! His dresser is on the wall you can't see-actually you can see the corner of it in the picture.

Here's Brady on his bed-and yes, he has no pants on. I swear this kid would never wear pants if we didn't make him!

Here's the cute canvas art I made for his room. I just found some Toy Story pictures on the internet and printed them out, painted the canvas and modge podged them on to the canvas. Don't worry, I was careful with the modge podge-no mishaps this time! ;)

I am still working on more of the house and now with Christmas decorations up, it doesn't look the same anyway! I've redone 2 of the 3 bathrooms so I'll have to post pictures of them next! First I need to get some up from Thanksgiving!

Brady's Thanksgiving program

Brady's preschool did a little Thanksgiving program and cookie "feast". It was so cute watching all the little 3 year olds sing and clap with their little turkey hats on.

It was really funny when the kids came through the door and lined up in front of us, all the parents took out cameras and phones and video cameras to document this moment forever. How funny is this? I was guilty as well, but it just struck me as pretty funny as I looked around!

Here he is with his little hat and placemat he made to use to eat his cookies on.

He really loves his new preschool here so that is good. I just can't believe he is old enough to go to preschool! My baby is growing up!!

I take it back.....

So I guess I jinxed us when I said the other day how much I was enjoying the beautiful fall weather! On Friday night it snowed! We were kind of excited to see it since we haven't lived anywhere that gets snow for 7 years. We have been in the snow at Christmas when we have visited IL many times. Somehow, it was different this time. We were in the house all bundled up and watching the snow. It was kind of fun. (Fast forward 2 months and I will be complaining about the snow I'm sure!)
But it pretty much melted yesterday because it warmed back up some in the sun.
Brady got to play in it a little bit and was very excited to put on the snow pants that Grandma and Pop Pop brought for him this weekend. They came to visit for Aaron's birthday and the snow pants came just in time! We had a good weekend with them and as always, it went by too fast.

Here's Brady and Pop Pop shaving.

He's even wearing the snow pants in the house! I'm sure more snow will be here soon Brady!

Beautiful Fall day

We have loved having the fall here. It's been unseasonably warm-yay for us! I don't think we could have moved here and had to deal with cold temps right away! We've been told that this is unusual weather for this time of year here. It's been in the upper 60's this week, but today it's a little chilly and cloudy. But yesterday, we got to enjoy the beautiful weather in the afternoon. Brady loves having this big long driveway that is pretty flat and level and so do I. Aaron is not going to like it so much when winter comes and he has to shovel it. :) He is currently looking for a snow blower on Craigslist before it starts to snow and they are all gone or really expensive.
Here's a little glimpse of Brady playing in the driveway and you get just a little glimpse of our neighborhood too I guess.
Wind blowing his hair! :)
Thanks Bardiau's for the car-Brady loves it and now has somewhere he can ride it!

Happy Halloween!

OK, so I know this is a couple days late but oh well. That's how everything has been around here lately. Better late than never though!
We were excited to have my Mom and Dad visit here this last weekend and be able to celebrate the fall and Halloween festivities with us. I love living closer to them now and Brady has really had a great time with all the visitors we have had in the last couple weeks. Plus my Mom always gets TONS of good pictures for us too!
My Mom with her boys

We went to a fun pumpkin patch and went on a hay ride.
It was a gorgeous day-about 65 degrees and sunny. Perfect weather!

Brady couldn't have been more happy than he was being pulled on a trailer by a tractor and having Grandpa's attention to spot pumpkins!

They took us all around the property and into the pumpkin field to pick our own pumpkins. They found one!

There were lots of other fun activities for kids there too
Collin was even enjoying the day

We had to get one of just the boys together and this was our first attempt that came out good before Brady said Collin's head was too heavy to hold up anymore!

Then we had to get some of our little ham Brady by himself!
He was saying "Happy Halloween" so we got a good smile through the "een" sound on the end!

Then we had to carve the pumpkin of course. Brady did not want to get his hand in the pumpkin "goop" inside but we did get him to dig in with a spoon.

Aaron was trying to get him to be silly and just stick his hand in there but instead, I think it scared him off by doing this!

Finished!

And here's my little treats in their costumes:
Sweet little pumpkin Collin

And Buzz Brady (he was Buzz last year but wanted to be him again this year too!)
I am seriously loving this fall weather here. I know soon it will end but right now I am really enjoying it. And we really enjoyed another visit from Grandma and Grandpa too!
