My little fish...well kind of

Brady did swim lessons this year for the first time.  Last year, even with his floaty swim suit thing, he would not let go of me at all.  Even if I only wanted to hold him out an arms length in front of me.  He wanted to have me in a bear hug the whole time in the water.
So I was a little nervous as to what would happen when I took him to swim lessons.
He had another little girl in his class that was also a a little bit afraid of the water too.  Their teacher had her work cut out for her!
Part of the problem in this was that it was pretty cold for about 4 days of his swim lessons.  We had several storms blow through at night and in the morning it was a bit chilly and windy even though the sun was coming back out.  I had to convince him to just stay in the water and move around a bit and it would be better.

The little wall flowers hanging on for dear life!
I thought it would take a little longer but this is on the first day!  He actually let go of the wall!  It was shallow enough to touch so he was able to build his confidence a little bit and I think it helped him out a lot.
Walking along the wall without holding on!  Big progress!
Eventually, he was able to do this
Kicking with the kick board
This was on the last day of their lesson.
Jumping into the deep end with his teacher catching him.
He still wouldn't go under the water or try and kick by himself with the kick board but I am very pleased with the progress that he made.  Now that he's not as scared of getting in the water and trying to stand by himself, we can go from there!
